Read Through the Bible in a Year 2018 Day 63: God's Word

Good morning everyone!

In today's reading, Deuteronomy 14-16, we again get a reminder of some of the laws God gave the Israelites in Leviticus.

Basically, today's reading was a reminder of clean and unclean animals, the Sabbath year (the 7th year) and feasts.

Since I've already talked about these, and I don't have anything new to say, I'll just leave you with an encouraging verse.

Even though I didn't really learn anything new today, even though these verses/laws are repeating, that doesn't mean they aren't useful verses.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Now, as a woman, sometimes I like to replace phrases like "man of God" with "person of God." This is one of those times. In fact, I might just rewrite this one for the ladies today.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 {women's version} - All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the [woman] of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

Either way, the meaning stands. All of God's Word is useful for teaching, correction, and training. Even the parts that repeat. Especially the parts that repeat.

I hope you'll join me tomorrow when I read Deuteronomy 17-20.
